Problem-Posing or Banking idea
In Pedagogy of the Oppressed Paulo Freire says the teacher-student contradiction. The contradiction is usually when students are handled by educators. The professors have the authority over the students, which sets the students in a position that does not have freedom to see their identity as humans. This conundrum exists due to the banking idea of education. Freire states the fact that banking strategy encourages the contradiction among teachers and students. The banking idea rejects pupils as individuals and recognizes them since objects. Because of the being rejected as individuals, students are not able to speak or act upon their particular decisions and opinions. They are really governed by simply teachers who take on the role as being a dictator. The teachers speak and address their account. The way to deal with this contradiction is the problem-posing method. Being a senior in high school, I've experienced the problem-posing technique through a coaching program and it has proved helpful. The capability of problem-posing can easily destroy the banking concept of education simply by communication. Freire claims, " Only through communication may human life hold meaning" (77). This can be absolutely the case. What this individual means is that communication is key to life. Communication is essential since it enables relationships between instructors and students to develop. When talking with people, one profits that the conversation is a lesson being taught. Through dialogue, instructors and students develop a romance where both equally become at the same time students and teachers. There is not any higher electric power. Both are equal and share the role of your educator. Knowledge is delivered both methods, teachers teach the students and vice versa. Freire sees problem-posing as a suitable method.
