Swami Vivekananda, his earlier term was Narendranatha Dutta was born on 12th january 1863, the auspicious day of Makarasankranthi. His father, Viswanatha Dutta was obviously a lawyer. Mother Bhuvaneshwari Devi considered her son as being a gift with the Lord Shiva. From the childhood days itself he has a deep aspire to help other folks. As Naren grew, his sharp intellect and spirit of request began to raise many concerns about the existence of God. The meeting with Sree Ramakrishna altered Naren's existence. He felt deeply attracted to Sri Ramakrishna. He became chief student of Sri Ramakrishna. During travels Swamiji was pained to see the pitiable condition of his country men. He wanted a solution which usually would be in conformity together with the religious and cultural traditions of india. Swamiji went to western to transmitted India's psychic message and seek support from them to improve the conditions in India. Birth and childhood
Vivekananda was born since Narendranath Datta (in short, Narendra) in Calcutta, the administrative centre of English India, in 12 January 1863 throughout the Makar Sankranti festival.
